Great news! After a number of years of investigation and research, Environmental Green Bins have been successful in securing the rights to distribute a New Zealand-made biodegradable 60ltr refuse bag.

• Are available from all good supermarkets;
• Are more affordable than paper refuse bag alternatives;
• Are made with Degradable Compatible Plastic additive which makes them totally degradable;
• Break down faster than paper refuse bag alternatives;
• Will reduce amount of recycled paper going to landfill by 70-80 tonnes per annum;
• Have seamless construction (for high puncture and tear resistance) and star seal bottoms (for superior strength and leak protection).

Environmental Green Bins collection team will collect your biodegradable bags from your kerb on the same day as your designated Tauranga District Council rubbish collection day.

To help make our service efficient we request your co-operation in the following matters:

1. Place your Biodegradable Bag at the kerb by 7.30am;
2. Please place your Biodegradable Bag at least one metre away from any obstacles such as trees, cars, letterboxes and other bins etc., and do not obstruct footpaths, accessway or roadway;
3. Please ensure the bag does not contain hot ashes, liquid, concrete, bricks or dirt at all times;
4. Make sure the bag is securely closed and is not excessively heavy;
5. Please do not leave bags out overnight.
